David Betancourt, Ph.D.

David Betancourt, Ph.D., is a computer scientist, engineer, and entrepreneur building frontier AI for the world's most complex markets. He is the Founder & CEO of Reinforce Market Labs, where he builds the control infrastructure for trustworthy, autonomous AI agents, and Founder & Head of AI of DB Macro Research, a private quantitative research and trading firm where he directs AI-driven, systematic strategies.

Previously, as an AI Scientist at Apple, Dr. Betancourt pioneered on-device, privacy-preserving AI for recommendation and advertising. Before Apple, he was Chief Scientist at Vorstella, a cloud observability startup, until it was acquired. Earlier in his career, he worked on reinforcement learning for cyberdefense and physics-informed machine learning for energy.

Dr. Betancourt holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in computer science, and an M.S. and a B.S. (high honors) in engineering — all from Georgia Tech. The throughline across his work is reliable autonomous decision-making under uncertainty at scale: AI agents with incomplete information and real consequences. It is the problem he works on now — building autonomous systems, and the control infrastructure that governs them, reliable enough to trade real capital in live markets.
